Casino Nova Scotia FAQ
This Casino Nova Scotia FAQ covers the practical questions visitors tend to have before heading to Halifax or Sydney. From age and ID requirements to poker, Player’s Club membership, and online gaming, these answers make it easier to plan your visit.
You must be 19 or older to access Casino Nova Scotia. Valid government-issued photo ID is required, and guests may be asked for additional identification in some circumstances. The same minimum age applies at both the Halifax and Sydney locations.
Casino Nova Scotia does not publish a strict formal dress code comparable with an upscale nightclub. The sensible choice is clean, neat clothing suitable for a casino, restaurant or evening entertainment venue. Individual restaurants, events or other areas may have their own requirements, so check the venue details if you're visiting for a specific event.
Yes. Guests must be 19+ and show valid government-issued photo ID to access the casino. A driver's licence, passport, or provincial identification card are examples of accepted government photo ID. The Bruce Guthro Theatre also requires guests accessing the casino to meet the 19+ identification requirement.
Yes. Player’s Club is Casino Nova Scotia's free loyalty programme and one card works at both Halifax and Sydney. Signing up takes less than two minutes at Guest Services, provided you are 19 or older and have valid government-issued photo ID.
There are four Player’s Club levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Club Privé. The current thresholds are 0–1,999 points for Bronze, 2,000–9,999 for Silver, 10,000–39,000 for Gold and 40,000+ for Club Privé. Points earned from January to June determine July–December status, while July–December points determine January–June status.
